The Canadian Bureau for the Advancement of Music is looking for a few piano teachers interested in teaching group piano in your local schools. Since 1922 we have been bringing affordable piano lessons to elementary children before, after, and during school hours. Our programme is unique and has been successful for over a century.
CBAM will train you in our methodology, assist you in setting up schools and permits, provide you with books, and support you as you work with the children. It is an opportunity for you to bring children into the world of piano playing that otherwise might miss the chance due to the high cost of private lessons. When the children have reached a certain level, they will generally become your own private students thereby increasing your student base. The parents get to see if their little ones are really interested at a lower cost and if they are, you benefit now and in the future.
Group piano has the advantages of the children supporting each other, building friendships within the music community, lower cost, and having an audience right from the start.
We are running the training program this August over a 4-day period, dates to be confirmed later, and we would love for you to join us. Contact us now with any questions and let’s get you started.
If you are interested in joining us, please tender your music resume to president.cbam@gmail.com no later than Friday July 17, 2026.
A phone interview will be necessary before acceptance into the program. You MUST be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Any questions, please contact Barton Graff (416-528-8752) or Doreen Hutt (416-755-4324).
We look forward to meeting you!
